Albuquerque, NM-Rree of the Corps of US Army Engineers-Albuquerque hosted the open house of its business opportunities (BOOH) at the SID Cutter Pilot Pilot at Fiesta Balloon Park, 20 February 2025.
This year more than 150 present in the industry and 50 federal and state representatives and partners from all over the region participated.
“Events like this bring USAE together with its partners and build the relationships needed to safely provide quality projects in time and budget,” said Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Miller, Commander, USAE-Albuquerque district.
The open house focused on networking with the industry to discuss the USAIC mission, highlight the current advantages of the Albuquerque district and create commitment to support future opportunities.
“Albuquerque District Programs, Project Management, Contract and Small Business Professionals participated in open networking with current and possible industry partners to communicate future procurement needs, identify opportunities for early cooperation and create commitment to support mission’s requirements,” said Stephanie Pararchue, Usace District.
“The event was a tremendous success and reinforced the circle’s commitment to its community, its partners, and to provide quality projects in time and budget with certainty,” Pare said.
The open home is also a way for employees from the district’s divisions and branches to inform and educate partners about what their office does and as a business community can partner with the Corps.
“There were many interested AE firms and construction companies to come to the table,” said Chris Velasquez, head of the district design branch. “They want to know what the design branch does and [I] Let them know what we execute, how we execute AE contracts. Most of the interest was in forecast and what’s going on inside the circle and I think we were able to provide a lot of good information that they would be able to use for offers for future contracts. “
Together with the district staff, the event was supported by the USAE-Sacramento district, the basic teams from the bases of Kirtland and Cannon Force Air Force, and Range White Sands Range.
Other partners present included the small business administration, the APEX accelerators of New Mexico, the US Minority Business Development Agency, the Hyspano Albuquerque House, the US Military Engineers (SAME), and the Energy Business Association (Eteba).
“I work very closely with Stephanie money. She is a small business lawyer, “said Kala Naranjo, representative of the SBA Procurement Center.” We all have the same mission, and the goal is to increase small businesses in federal contracting. We are happy for a partner and helping the small business community. “
